We are pleased to announce the successful completion of mainline automatic welding works for a sour-service pipeline in the UAE. The project was executed in 2026 and was completed ahead of the contractual schedule, marking an important milestone in the delivery of critical energy infrastructure.
The sour-service pipeline project, 48‑inch pipeline with 23.83mm wall thickness, covered a total length of 51.6km. Mainline welding activities were carried out using a dedicated welding spread equipped with four (4) Qapqa PWT auto XCS welding systems, operated by an experienced welding team from Qapqa.
In addition to the mainline welding works, Qapqa also executed automatic welding on sixteen (16) NDRC’s on selected pipeline sections. These activities were delivered in full compliance with project specifications and applicable quality and inspection requirements.
Quality and safety were key priorities during all phases of execution. Qapqa achieved an industry-leading low repair rate and completed the works with zero LTI.
The successful and early delivery of this project underscores Qapqa capability to combine advanced automatic welding technology with disciplined planning and execution. Qapqa remains committed to supporting the development of safe, reliable, and sustainable pipeline infrastructures worldwide.
