Ain Tsila Gas Pipeline Completed by LEAD in Algeria

In 2022, LEAD Contracting & Trading Ltd. successfully completed the Ain Tsila Gas Pipeline Project in Algeria
. This major infrastructure project transported natural gas from the Ain Tsila gas field in the Illizi Basin to processing facilities and onward to the national grid. The project was awarded by Petrofac International LLC as part of the broader Ain Tsila Development Project and played a crucial role in expanding Algeria’s domestic energy supply and export capacity.

Ain Tsila Gas Pipeline Project

The Ain Tsila Gas Pipeline spans 90 km and is constructed with 34-inch X65 steel pipes with a wall thickness of 14 mm. LEAD was responsible for full pipeline construction, including welding and installation, ensuring compliance with strict quality and safety standards.

For this project, LEAD utilized the PWT XCS Welding System to deliver automated, high-integrity welding solutions. This advanced technology was particularly crucial for remote desert operations and high-spec gas infrastructure in North Africa’s energy sector, ensuring efficiency, safety, and superior quality throughout the pipeline.

This pipeline strengthens Algeria’s energy infrastructure, enabling efficient transport of natural gas from remote fields in the Illizi Basin to central processing facilities, supporting both domestic consumption and export.
