Larsen & Toubro constructs the Master Gas System 3 – Package #08 for Saudi Aramco

Larsen and Toubro began work on Master Gas System 3 Package 08 for Saudi Aramco in the second quarter of 2024. The project is part of the expansion of the East West Gas Pipeline network and strengthens the connection between compressor stations EWPS 8 and EWPS 10. This expansion improves the flow, reliability, and capacity of natural gas across Saudi Arabia.

Master Gas System 3 – Package #08

The Master Gas System 3 – Package #08 in Saudi Arabia is a strategic pipeline project that involves complex engineering, welding, and construction works across desert terrain. The pipeline uses 56" X70 material and covers a total route of about four hundred eighty (480) kilometers. Welding takes place in desert conditions with temperatures above fifty degrees Celsius. Qapqa supports the project with its PWT XCS automatic welding systems for the root pass, fill, and cap layers. This ensures stable quality throughout the large diameter pipeline construction.

Larsen and Toubro already completed a one hundred twenty (120) kilometer section of this pipeline using Qapqa automatic welding. This section achieved an average repair rate of zero point six (0.6%) percent. After this milestone, teams moved on to the next section known as EWG zero four within a two hundred forty one (240) kilometer scope referenced in those reports
